Cornel West

Cornel Ronald West (lahir 2 Juni 1953) adalah filsuf, aktivis politik, kritikus sosial, penulis, dan cendekiawan publik Amerika. Putra seorang pendeta Baptis, West berfokus pada peran ras, gender, dan kelas di masyarakat Amerika dan cara-cara orang bertindak dan bereaksi terhadap "pengkondisian radikal" mereka. Seorang demokrat radikal dan sosialis demokrat, West menarik kontribusi intelektualnya dari banyak tradisi, termasuk Kekristenan, gereja kulit hitam, Marxisme, neopragmatisme, dan transendentalisme.
