Perang Punisia Pertama (264 sampai 241 SM) adalah perang pertama dari tiga perang besar yang terjadi antara Kartago kuno melawan Republik Romawi. Selama 23 tahun, kedua kekuatan tersebut bersaing demi supremasi di Laut Mediterania bagian barat, khususnya di pulau Sisilia dan laut di sekitarnya, namun mencakup juga semenanjung Apennine dan Afrika Utara. Pada masa-masa awal konflik, Kartago, yang terletak di Tunisia modern, merupakan kekuatan dominan di Mediterania Barat. Namun Republik Romawi pada akhirnya berhasil memenangkan perang ini. Akibatnya Romawi bisa memaksa Kartago menyepakati suatu perjanjian sangat memberatkan pihak Kartago, khususnya dalam bidang militer dan ekonomi.[1]
Serangkaian perang antara Romawi dan Kartago disebut oleh orang Romawi sebagai "Perang Punisia" karena nama Latin untuk bangsa Kartago adalah Punici, berasal dari kata Phoenici, yang merujuk pada bangsa Funisia, leluhur bangsa Kartago.[2]
