Vokal takbulat setengah tertutup depan,[1] atau vokal takbulat setengah-tinggi depan, adalah jenis suara vokal, digunakan di beberapa bahasa lisan.
Untuk vokal takbulat setengah tertutup depan yang biasanya ditranskripsikan dengan simbol ⟨ɪ⟩ atau ⟨i⟩, lihat vokal takbulat hampir tertutup depan. Jika simbol biasa adalah ⟨e⟩, vokalnya terdaftar disini.
Kebelakangan vokal adalah di depan, yang berarti lidah diposisikan di belakang dalam mulut tanpa membuat kontraksi yang akan diklasifikasikan sebagai konsonan.
Vokal ini merupakan vokal takbulat, yang berarti vokal ini dihasilkan dari bibir dengan bentuk tidak membulat.
Hampir depan; biasanya ditranskripsikan dalam IPA dengan ⟨ɛː⟩. Secara fonetis, ini hampir identikal dengan /ɪ/ ([ɪ̞]). Vokal biasanya ditranskripsikan dalam IPA dengan ⟨eː⟩ yang sebenarnya adalah [e̝ː] hampir tertutup.[9]
Hampir depan; terkadang menjadi realisasi /ɜː/. Dapat dibulatkan menjadi [œ̝ː] atau, lebih sering, [ɜ̝ː] tengah takbulat.[24] Biasanya diranskripsikan dalam IPA dengan ⟨ɜː⟩.
Keluaran dari penyatu /ɛː–eː/ ditemukan secara Universal di Jerman Utara, Jerman Timur dan Austria Timur (lebih sering muncul pada pidato formal) dan di beberapa daerah lain.[28] Lihat fonologi Jerman Standar
