Takfiri

Takfiri (Arab: تكفيريtakfīrī) adalah sebutan bagi seorang Muslim yang menuduh Muslim lainya (atau kadang juga mencakup penganut ajaran Agama Samawi lain) sebagai kafir dan murtad.[1] Tuduhan itu sendiri disebut takfir, berasal dari kata kafir (kaum tidak beriman), dan disebutkan sebagai "orang yang mengaku seorang Muslim tetapi dinyatakan tidak murni Islamnya dan diragukan keimanannya."[2] Tindakan menuduh Muslim lain sebagai "kafir" telah menjadi suatu bentuk penghinaan sektarian, yaitu seorang Muslim menuduh Muslim sekte atau aliran lainnya sebagai kafir. Tindak kekerasan yang berawal dari tuduhan mengkafirkan Muslim lain kian marak dengan merebaknya ketegangan antara Sunni dan Syiah di Timur Tengah, khususnya setelah pecahnya Perang Saudara Suriah pada 2011.[3][4][5]

Istilah takfiri kian terkenal secara global setelah wartawan liputan investigasi BBC, Peter Taylor, menyebutkannya dalam serial televisi BBC tahun 2005 bertajuk The New Al Qaeda.[6]
