Biomekanika

Biomekanika adalah kajian struktur dan fungsi aspek mekanika dari sistem biologi, pada tingkat dari seluruh organisme sampai organ, sel dan organel sel,[1] memakai metode mekanika.[2]
Etimologi
[sunting | sunting sumber]Kata "biomekanika" (1899) dan kata terkait "biomekanikal" (1856) berasal dari kata bahasa Yunani Kuno βίος bios "kehidupan" dan μηχανική, mēchanikē "mekanika", merujuk kepada kajian prinsip mekanika dari organisme makhluk hidup, terutama gerakan dan struktur mereka.[3]
