Galeri potret infobox[sunting sumber]

Excuse me for writing in English as I'm coming from English Wikipedia. Why are the portrait galleries from the infoboxes of articles about ethnic groups still allowed in Indonesian Wikipedia? It was banned with consensus long ago in English Wikipedia.[1] Even here in Indonesian Wikipedia, the execution seems disparate. Some Indonesian ethnic groups such as Suku Jawa have a staggering huge list of portraits, while others completely eliminated the gallery and followed the style of English Wikipedia. What are the reasoning behind the persistent use of portrait gallery, as well as the selective and patchy application of it?

For your information, here are the Indonesian ethnic groups with portrait gallery:

I've removed them but Pengguna:Herryz kept reverting them without any particular reason, and hasn't responded to my question on his talk page.

Meanwhile, here are the ethnic groups that don't have the portrait gallery (as of this moment I'm posting this topic): Suku Sunda, Suku Madura, Suku Betawi, Orang Minangkabau, Suku Bugis, Suku Melayu, Suku Banten, Suku Banjar, Suku Bali, Suku Sasak, Suku Dayak, Suku Makassar, Suku Cirebon, Suku Jambi, Suku Lampung, Suku Nias. Actually it was me who removed the gallery from many of them, you can check the edit history. And don't get me started on non-Indonesian nationalities. It's even more patchy and selective. For example, on what criteria are the figures selected on the infobox of Bangsa Arab? Why is there no portrait gallery on the infobox of Bangsa Slavia? I can go on and on and on.

terjemahan google (and my patchy edit):[sunting sumber]

Based on WPID consensus : "Any WPEN's consensus doesn't automatically become a consensus in WPID. WPEN's consensus could serve as a basis to start a discussion, but it requires further local discussion whether to adopt it or not." As for now, MOS:NOETHNICGALLERIES is not yet ratified by WPID community. Before WPID community actually reach a consensus regarding this issue, please refrain from deleting it. rtnF bicara 26 Maret 2022 02.19 (UTC)[balas]
Thank you for being the only person who responded to my question. Unfortunately, I still think my question still stands. Why is this practice still allowed? Indonesia is a multi-ethnic country, and with the current policy still being applied, I believe there will be a host of issues that can potentially arise in the future. For example, Sandiaga Uno is included in the infobox of Suku Gorontalo. But we all know he is multi-ethnic.[3] On what basis does Indonesian Wikipedia arbitrary decide his "primary" ethnic background? Not to mention who gets to decide the "representative" of an ethnic group. The practice is mired with WP:POV and WP:OR, and causing Indonesian Wikipedia to be the source of misinformation. This is the kind of thing that Indonesia needs to discuss and prevent as a country with multi-ethnic harmony. I know only a handful of users effectively manage Indonesian Wikipedia, but even so, I'm extremely baffled by how people here think it is perfectly fine keeping and defending this practice.
