Buryatia (Rusia: Респу́блика Буря́тия, tr. Respublika Buryatiya; IPA: [rʲɪsˈpublʲɪkə bʊˈrʲætʲɪjə]; Templat:Lang-bxr) merupakan nama Subyek Federal Rusia. Subyek ini memiliki luas wilayah 351.300 km². Penduduk di Republik ini 981.238 jiwa (2002). Dengan kepadatan penduduk 2,8 jiwa/km². Ibu kotanya ialah Ulan-Ude.

Sejarah [sunting]
Buryatia dijajah untuk pertama kalinya pada 1600 demi kemakmuran, emas, dan tambang lain. Pada 1923, Buryat-Mongol ASSR dibentuk sebagai hasil penggabungan Buryat-Mongol dan Mongol-Buryat Oblasts. Pada 1937, Aga Buryatia dan Ust-Orda Buryatia dipecah dari Buryat-Mongolian ASSR dan digabung dengan Chita and Irkutsk Oblasts, respectively. Selain itu, Olkhonsky District ditransfer dari Buryat-Mongolina ASSR ke Irkutsk Oblast.

Republik ini terletak di Distrik Federal Siberia sepanjang daerah timur danau Baikal.
