Harold Pinter CH, CBE (10 Oktober 1930 – 24 Desember 2008) adalah seorang dramawan Inggris yang meraih Hadiah Nobel bidang Kesusasteraan pada tahun 2005.

Putra seorang pembuat busana keturunan Yahudi, Pinter selain telah menulis 30 naskah drama, juga penulis banyak puisi dan skenario film. Ia juga sering menyutradarai pementasan drama maupun sutradara film dan bahkan pernah menjadi aktor.

Naskah drama paling terkenal yang dia tulis adalah The Dumb Waiter (1957) dan The Caretaker (1959) yang disebut-sebut merupakan pengamatan tajam atas persoalan sosial dan linguistik, dengan alur cerita dan percakapan yang sangat mendalam. Film terbaik yang pernah ia sutradarai adalah The French Lieutenant’ Woman, yang diangkat dari novel karya John Fowles.

Selain penulis, Pinter juga adalah aktivis HAM dan politik. Naskah drama yang ia tulis kadang-kadang mengandung unsur politik tidak secara langsung.

Atas jasa-jasanya, Pinter mendapat gelar Commanders of the British Empire (CBE) dari pemerintah Britania Raya pada tahun 1966 dan kemudian diberi gelar tambahan Companion of Honour pada tahun 2002. Ia sebelumnya pernah menolak diberi gelar ksatria (knighthood).

Pada tanggal 13 Oktober 2005, Pinter dianugerahi Hadiah Nobel dalam bidang Kesusasteraan karena merupakan ‘tokoh terdepan yang mewakili dunia drama Inggris pascaperang’.
