Lampung Barat merupakan Kabupaten dengan Ibukota Liwa. Terbentuk pada tahun 1991, merupakan pecahan dari Kabupaten Lampung Utara Provinsi Lampung. Berbatasan langsung dengan Provinsi Bengkulu (Kabupaten Kaur) dan Provinsi Sumatera Selatan (Kabupaten OKU Selatan). Merupakan wilayah yang subur dengan variasi wilayah yang lngkap mulai dari perbukitan dengn suhu yang sejuk hingga kawasan pantai. Merupakan penghasil Kopi, Damar dan produk-produk hutan lainnya, serta merupakan sentra hortikultura di Provinsi Lampung. Sebagaian besar wilayahnya merupakan kawasan hutan (Taman Nasional Bukit Barisan Selatan)
