Soundtrap adalah freemium online cross-platform digital audio workstation (DAW) untuk browser yang memungkinkan pengguna membuat musik atau podcast.[2][3] DAW dioperasikan oleh Soundtrap AB, yang dibeli oleh Spotify pada November 2017.[4] Soundtrap ditawarkan dalam bahasa Inggris, Spanyol, Prancis, Jerman, dan Swedia, dengan empat yang terakhir ditambahkan pada tahun 2017.[5][6]

Soundtrap dan Soundtrap AB didirikan 1 April 2012 di Stockholm, Swedia oleh Björn Melinder, Fredrik Posse, Gabriel Sjöberg, dan Per Emanuelsson, yang percaya bahwa itu terlalu "rumit untuk membuat musik" dan yang ingin membuat studio dengan kolaborasi dan “lingkungan produksi penuh tempat Anda dapat membuat podcast yang terdengar profesional, dilakukan secara kolaboratif di web”.[11] Soundtrap Studio diluncurkan dalam versi beta pada tahun 2013. Soundtrap dibagi menjadi tiga program: Soundtrap for Music Makers, Soundtrap for Storytellers, dan Soundtrap for Education .

Soundtrap for Education[sunting | sunting sumber]

Soundtrap for Education diperkenalkan pada tahun 2015,[27] yang dipamerkan pada tahun 2016 di Future of Education Technology Conference sebagai cara bagi guru dan siswa dari segala usia untuk mengeksplorasi pembuatan suara kreatif di lingkungan yang aman dan juga di rumah.[28][29] Program ini sesuai dengan COPPA, GDPR dan FERPA dan kompatibel dengan Google Classroom [30] dan Soundtrap for Storytellers.[31]

Program ini dinobatkan sebagai "The Best Website for Teaching and Learning" pada tahun 2015 oleh American Association of School Librarians [32] dan ditampilkan di "Creative Apps for Chromebooks" Google for Education pada tahun 2016.[33] Itu juga diberikan4/5 stars oleh Common Sense Media, mengatakan bahwa dasbornya mudah digunakan dan bahwa "tutorial video ekstensif dan fitur dukungan memfasilitasi penggunaan alat ini secara maksimal."
