William Plomer

William Charles Franklyn Plomer CBE (10 Desember 1903 – 20 September 1973) adalah seorang novelis, penyair, dan editor sastra asal Afrika Selatan dan Inggris. Ia juga menulis serangkaian libretto untuk Benjamin Britten. Beberapa puisinya ditulis dengan menggunakan nama pena Robert Pagan.

Lahir dari orangtua Inggris di Koloni Transvaal, ia pindah ke Inggris pada tahun 1929 setelah menghabiskan beberapa tahun di Jepang. Meskipun tidak sepopuler rekan-rekannya, ia diakui sebagai seorang modernis dan karyanya sangat dihargai oleh penulis lain, termasuk Virginia Woolf dan Nadine Gordimer. Ia adalah seorang homoseksual, dan setidaknya salah satu novelnya menggambarkan hubungan gay, tetapi apakah ia hidup terbuka sebagai gay sendiri tidak jelas.
