Messier 109 (juga dikenal sebagai NGC 3992) adalah sebuah galaksi spiral berpalang yang memamerkan struktur cincin dalam yang lemah di sekitar central bar sekitar 83.5 ± 24 juta tahun cahaya[3] jauhnya di konstelasi Ursa Major. M109 dapat dilihat di sebelah tenggara bintang Phecda (γ UMa).
Lingkungan
[sunting | sunting sumber]M109 merupakan galaksi yang paling terang di Grup M109, sebuah kelompok galaksi yang terletak di konstelasi Ursa Major yang mungkin mengandung lebih dari 50 galaksi.[4][5][6][7]
