Corydoras atau ikan tikus[1] adalah genus ikan berkumis air tawar dalam keluarga Callichthyidae, subfamili Corydoradinae. Spesiesnya biasanya memiliki wilayah endemisme yang lebih terbatas dibandingkan anggota callichthyidae lainnya, tetapi wilayah sebaran keseluruhan anggotanya hampir sama dengan wilayah sebaran anggota famili callichthyidae lain, kecuali Panama di mana tidak terdapat anggota spesiesnya.[2] Spesiesnya tersebar di Amerika Selatan di mana mereka dapat ditemukan dari timur Andes hingga pantai Atlantik, dari Trinidad hingga cekungan Río de la Plata di Argentina utara.[3] Spesies yang termasuk dalam genus ini menampilkan keragaman bentuk tubuh dan warna yang luas.[4] Ikan tikus adalah ikan kecil, berukuran antara 2,5 hingga 12 cm,[3] dan terlindung dari pemangsa melalui pelindung tubuh dan duri tajam yang biasanya berbisa.[5]
