Gambar gugus bolah VVV CL001 yang diambil oleh teleskop VISTA milik ESO. Di kanan adalah gugus bola UKS 1, di kirinya adalah gugus bola penemuan baru yang kurang jelas, VVV CL001.[1] Keduanya tidak terletak dekat diantara satu sama lain; tampak dekat karena secara tidak sengaja berada di arah pandang yang sama.[2]

Berikut adalah daftar gugus bola di halo Bima Sakti. Diameternya dalam menit busur seperti yang tampak dari Bumi. Sebagai acuan, koordinat langit epos J2000 Pusat Galaksi adalah asensio rekta  17j 45m 40.04d, deklinasi  -29° 00′ 28.1″. Sejumlah besar gugus bola dapat ditemukan di rasi bintang Ophiuchus dan Sagittarius, keduanya terletak di arah inti galaksi.
