Macklemore & Ryan Lewis adalah duo hip hop dari Seattle, Washington, Amerika Serikat, dibentuk pada tahun 2009 oleh Macklemore, seorang rapper,[5][6] dan Ryan Lewis, seorang DJ dan produser rekaman. Pada tahun 2009, mereka merilis karya kolaborasi pertama mereka, sebuah EP berjudul VS. EP. Mereka kemudian merilis EP lanjutan dengan VS. Redux (2010). Single Macklemore dan Lewis "Thrift Shop" mencapai nomor satu di Billboard Hot 100 Amerika Serikat pada tahun 2013.[8] Single tersebut dijuluki sebagai lagu pertama sejak tahun 1994 yang menduduki puncak tangga lagu Hot 100 tanpa dukungan label rekaman besar oleh Billboard, meskipun Macklemore, dalam kontrak rekaman yang sedikit tidak biasa, membayar persentase nominal penjualan untuk menggunakan departemen promosi radio Warner Bros. Records untuk mendorong promo singelnya.[9][10] Single kedua mereka, "Can't Hold Us", juga menduduki nomor satu di Hot 100 Chart, menjadikan Macklemore dan Lewis duo pertama dalam sejarah tangga lagu yang dua single pertama mereka sama-sama mencapai posisi puncak.[11] Macklemore dan Lewis merilis album studio debut mereka, The Heist, pada tanggal 9 Oktober 2012, yang berada di nomor 2 di Billboard 200 Amerika Serikat.
