Kyllinga adalah salah satu genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam keluarga Cyperaceae. Mereka berasal dari daerah tropis dan beriklim hangat di dunia, khususnya di Afrika tropis.^[2]^[3] Morfologinya bervariasi, tumbuh hingga ketinggian 2,5 cm hingga satu meter dan terkadang tidak memiliki rimpang. Mereka berkerabat dekat dengan spesies dalam genus Cyperus,^[4] dan terkadang dianggap sebagai bagian dari Cyperus yang berbatas tegas.^[1]^[5]^[6]
