Due to POJ's origins in the church, much of the material in the script is religious in nature, including several Bible translations, books of hymns, and guides to morality. POJ was initially not well supported by word-processing applications due to the special diacritics needed to write it. Support has now improved and there are now sufficient resources to both enter and display POJ correctly. Pe̍h-ōe-jī (dibaca Templat:IPA-nan, disingkat POJ, arti harafiah vernacular writing, juga dikenal sebagai Church Romanization) adalah suatu cara menulis (ortografi) varian dialek Southern Min, suatu Chinese language or dialect, khususnya Taiwanese dan Amoy Hokkien.[1] Dikembangkan oleh misionaris Presbytrerian yang bekerja di antara Chinese diaspora di Asia Tenggara pada abad ke-19[2] dan disempurnakan oleh para misionaris yang bekerja di Xiamen dan Tainan. Sistem ini menggunakan modifikasi alfabet Latin dan beberapa diakritik untuk mewakili bahasa ucapan. Setelah awalnya sukses dipakai di Fujian, POJ menjadi berkembang di Taiwan, dan pada pertengahan abad ke-20 lebih dari 100.000 orang fasih dalam POJ.
