Sungai Kongo (juga disebut Sungai Zaire) adalah sungai terbesar di Afrika Tengah bagian Barat. Sungai ini memiliki panjang sekitar 4.700 km, menjadikannya sebagai sungai terbesar kedua di Afrika (setelah sungai Nil). Sungai ini mengalir melalui hutan hujan terbesar di dunia,[1]. Nama Kongo berasal dari Kerajaan Kongo. Dari tahun 1971 sampai 1997, pemerintah Zaire menyebutnya Sungai Zaire.
