Fumarol (Latin fumus, asap) is an opening in Earth's (or any other astronomical body's) crust, often in the neighborhood of volcanoes, which emits steam and gases such as carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrochloric acid, and hydrogen sulfide. Nama solfatara, dari bahasa Italia solfo, sulfur (melalui Sicilian dialect), diberikan pada fumaroles yang mengeluarkan gas sulfur.

Aktivitas fumarol yang terkenal adalah di Lembah Ten Thousand Smokes, yang terbentuk selamal etusan Novarupta di Alaska tahun 1912.
