Helen Hayes MacArthur (nama gadis Brown; 10 Oktober 1900 – 17 Maret 1993)[1] adalah seorang aktris Amerika. Sering disebut sebagai "Ibu Teater Amerika", dia adalah orang kedua dan perempuan pertama yang memenangkan EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, dan Tony Award), dan orang pertama yang memenangkan Triple Crown of Acting. Hayes juga menerima Presidential Medal of Freedom, Penghargaan sipil tertinggi Amerika, dari Presiden Ronald Reagan pada tahun 1986.[2] Pada tahun 1988, ia dianugerahi penghargaan National Medal of Arts.
Helen Hayes Awards tahunan, yang telah mengakui keunggulan dalam teater profesional di wilayah Washington, D.C., sejak 1984, dengan nama yang sama. Pada tahun 1955, bekas Fulton Theatre di 46th Street di Theatre District, Kota New York, diubah namanya menjadi Helen Hayes Theatre. Ketika tempat itu digusur pada tahun 1982, tempat di dekatnya Little Theatre diubah namanya untuk menghormatinya. Helen Hayes dianggap sebagai salah satu aktris utama terhebat di teater abad ke-20.[3] Kariernya berlangsung selama 82 tahun.
