Istilah kuneiform itu dalam bahasa Indonesia tidak ada. Yang jelas kata ini tidak dimuat di KBBI. Biasanya diterjemahkan sebagai tulisan atau aksara paku (Moeiman & Steinhauer 2004 Nederlands - Indonesisch woordenboek) atau tulisan berbentuk baji (Echols & Shadily 2003 An English - Indonesian dictionary).
