Muhammad Daud Syah merupakan Sultan Aceh terakhir atau Sultan ke-35. Sultan Daud dinobatkan menjadi sultan di Masjid Tua Indrapuri pada tahun 1874[1] sampai menyerah kepada Belanda pada tanggal 10 Januari 1903. Dimana kemudian ia diasingkan oleh Hindia Belanda ke Ambon dan terakhir dipindah ke Batavia sampai wafatnya pada tanggal 6 Februari 1939.[2] Sultan Daud merupakan cucu dari Sultan Mansur Syah, dimana sampai tahun 1884 ia merupakan Wali dari Tuanku Hasyim, anak dari Sultan sebelumnya yang juga merupakan pamannya yaitu Sultan Mahmud Syah.[3]
