Meridiana-AirItaly

I apologize if I write in English, but I don't speak you language. I invited the user Enzino to stop to change only the page title and change also the contents but he didn't care. The problem is on Air Italy page, that I tried to mantein in Meridiana because the article is only on Meridiana airline and before change the title an update is needed. I wanted also that the user opened a discussion on what to do: make a new page (as in English and Italian Wikipedia) or update the existing page and then change the title (as in German and French Wikipedia)? I'd like you all discuss about that and then you make a consensual decision. I know, maybe I should write this before start an edit war but I would have liked talk to the user before write here. I would point out that these are two different airlines: Air Italy (2018) is born from the merger between Meridiana and Air Italy (2005). The new airline has inherited Meridiana's ICAO and IATA codes and Meridiana callsign.

Nazi symbol for a barnstar

Hi, one user of your Wikipedia has created a very controversial barnstar being used, among others, for userpages of this Indonesian Wikipedia. The user used a Nazi symbol on a barnstar, namely the barnstar awarded to authors contributing a lot to the area of Nazism, Nazi history, the Holocaust etc.

But now, this symbol has caused quite a ruckus on de:WP, i.e. the German Wikipedia. See here, with some users even believing that use of this symbol might be illegal in Germany under §86a of the German Criminal Code (StGB).

What should we do now? What does the community here think about this symbol? Should we delete/redraw it? Should a supranational solution be implemented? --ObersterGenosse (bicara) 6 Mei 2018 20.53 (UTC)

@ObersterGenosse: So far, there's no complain about Nazi symbol being used in barnstar or other pages in Indonesian Wikipedia. However, in real world, some Indonesian people does not seem to tolerate Communism symbol (hammer & sickle). But, again, Communism symbol never cause a ruckus in Indonesian Wikipedia (even we used it on barnstar), just like the Nazi symbol ones.

User talk page moved to main namespace

User Eliza Sulaiman made a confusion in the creation of article Ratna Sarita Efandie: she started with her own talk page, moved it to her user page, then created Ratna Sarita's biography and moved the page again to the current title. Should the page be moved back to Pembicaraan Pengguna:Eliza Sulaiman and her original messages restored? @Capmo: Yes, it's a LTA. She wants to evade page protection by moving from user namespace to the main namespace. So far... we tackle it by giving a "banned user template" in their user-page and usertalk-page; and then locking both of her sockpuppet's userpages and usertalk-page from being moved and created permanently. flixwito ^(•‿•)^ 17 Januari 2021 11.36 (UTC)

I am WhisperToMe, a strategy coordinator for meta:Wikimedia Community User Group Hong Kong. In an effort to increase participation from the Indonesian expatriate community in Hong Kong I am looking for Wikimedians interested in maintaining translations of the user group's pages in Indonesian. If any speakers of that language are interested in not only creating a translation of the page, but also continually maintaining it as changes are made, please give me a ping. I think this would be very useful for the Indonesians living and working in Hong Kong.

English: I don't really know about this kind of alcohol namely bambuse. I've told this issue to fellow administrator through unofficial communication site, and it seems that nobody really knows about this alcohol of "bambuse" up to now. However, Google search which may indicate the existence of this alcohol are only 2 pages, that are Facebook and Brosaem, because they have pictures of the product. However, both sites cannot be fully trusted. Another search in bahasa Indonesia can only refer to Ballo. AyoPurwakarta stated, "Ballo is an alcoholic drink [...] often served in bamboo cups.", but it is not made of bamboo as written by some Russian-language sites. This is also stated by another news site, TribunNews. Maybe @Glorious Engine: who write the article of "ballo" may know something about this. User:บุญพฤทธิ์ ทวนทัย is a contributor based at the Thai Wikipedia who has created machine translations of articles and spammed them over a wide range of Wikipedia languages, including here. While the subjects of the articles he has created are (mostly) notable, the mistake of creating articles in languages he does not understand has led to extremely bad quality, probably at the level of unintelligibility. Unless local editors are willing to start a clean-up effort, I suggest that his contributions be deleted.
