Gaius Laelius

Gaius Laelius adalah seorang jenderal dan negarawan Romawi, dan teman Scipio Africanus, yang menemaninya dalam kampanye Iberia (210–206 SM; Hispania Romawi, yang mencakup Spanyol dan Portugal modern) dan kampanyenya di Afrika (204–202 SM). Komandonya atas armada Romawi dalam serangan terhadap Kartago Baru dan komando kavaleri Romawi di Zama berkontribusi pada kemenangan Scipio.

Polybius berpendapat bahwa Laelius adalah rekan Scipio sejak hari-hari awal mereka bersama-sama di ketentaraan, karena Laelius rupanya adalah saksi penyelamatan ayahnya oleh Scipio dalam pertempuran kecil yang mungkin terjadi pada Pertempuran Ticinus pada akhir tahun 218 SM.^[1]
