César Abraham Vallejo Mendoza (16 Maret 1892 – 15 April 1938) adalah seorang penyair, penulis, pengarang drama dan jurnalis Peru. Meskipun ia hanya menerbitkan tiga buku puisi sepanjang hidupnya, ia dianggap menjadi salah satu inovator puisi besar pada abad ke-20 dalam bahasa apapun. Ia selalu melangkah ke depan dalam ranah kesusastraan, dan setiap bukunya berbeda satu sama lain, dan, dalam esensinya sendiri, revolusioner. Thomas Merton menyebutnya "penyair universal terbesar semenjak Dante". Penyair, kritikus dan biografer Inggris Martin Seymour-Smith, seorang otoritas utama dalam kesusastraan dunia, menyebut Vallejo sebagai "penyair abad kedua puluh terbesar dalam bahasa apapun." Ia menjadi anggota komunitas intelektual yang disebut Kelompok Utara yang dibentuk di kota pesisir utara Peru Trujillo.
