Bucket-wheel excavator (BWE) adalah alat berat yang digunakan di penambangan terbuka. Fungsinya adalah sebagai mesin pengeruk atau penggali skala besar dan kontinu. BWE mirip dengan bucket-chain excavator, namun dibedakan dengan penggunaan roda yang memiliki banyak "ember" (bucket) di sisi-sisinya yang digunakan untuk mengeruk secara bergantian.
