Apple M1 merupakan sistem dalam keping (system on a chip; SoC) berbasis ARM pertama buatan Apple Inc. sebagai unit pemroses sentral (CPU) untuk komputer Macintosh.[3] Keping ini dirilis untuk MacBook Air (M1, 2020), Mac mini (M1, 2020), dan MacBook Pro (13 inci, M1, 2020).[4] Apple M1 menjadi keping komputer pribadi yang dibuat dengan teknologi 5 nm. Apple mengeklaim bahwa keping tersebut memiliki inti CPU tercepat di dunia dalam kategori silikon berdaya rendah dan performa per watt CPU terbaik di dunia.[3][5]
Arsitektur[sunting | sunting sumber]
Apple M1 memiliki empat inti berperforma tinggi dengan kode nama "Firestorm" dan empat inti berdaya rendah dengan kode nama "Icestorm", yang memiliki pengaturan mirip dengan ARM big.Litte dan prosesor Lakefield milik Intel.[6] Kombinasi ini memberikan optimisasi yang tidak mungkin dilakukan oleh peranti berarsitektur Apple-Intel. Apple mengeklaim bahwa inti berdaya rendah itu menggunakan satu per sepuluh daya dari inti berperforma tinggi. Inti berperforma tinggi memiliki 192 KB CPU Cache dan 128 KB tembolok data dan berbagi 12 MB tembolok L2. "Kluster E" Icestorm memiliki frekuensi 0,6–2,064 GHz dengan maksimum penggunaan daya sebesar 1,3 W. "Kluster P" Firestorm berfrekuensi 0,6–3,204 GHz dan menggunakan daya paling besar 13,8 W.[7]
Teknologi penerjemahan biner dinamis Rosetta 2 memungkinkan produk yang menggunakan M1 dapat menjalankan perangkat lunak yang dibangun untuk CPU Intel x86.
M1 menggunakan SDRAM LPDDR4X 4266 MT/s[8] dalam konfigurasi memori terpadu yang digunakan secara bersama oleh seluruh komponen prosesor. Keping SoC dan RAM dipasang bersama dalam desain sistem dalam satu paket (system-in-a-package).
