Prof. Akhmaloka, Dipl.Biotech., Ph.D. (lahir di Cirebon, Jawa Barat, Indonesia, 1 Februari 1961; umur 53 tahun)[1] adalah Rektor Institut Teknologi Bandung periode 2010-2014.

Akhmaloka menggantikan Rektor ITB sebelumnya yaitu Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko Santoso, M.Sc. berdasarkan Keputusan Majelis Wali Amanat ITB Nomor 001/SK/K01-MWA/2010 tentang Pengangkatan Rektor ITB Periode 2010-2014. Dengan keputusan tersebut, maka nama Akhmaloka masuk dalam lintasan sejarah kepemimpinan ITB sebagai rektor kelima belas ITB atau rektor ketiga puluh satu Kampus Ganesha sejak TH Bandung didirikan.[2][3] Ketua Majelis Wali Amanat (MWA) ITB, Yani Panigoro melantik Akhmaloka pada Sabtu, 30 Januari 2010. Sebelum menjabat sebagai rektor ITB, Akhmaloka merupakan Dekan FMIPA ITB.

Akhmaloka masuk ke Jurusan Kimia FMIPA ITB pada tahun 1980 dan mendapatkan gelar Sarjana S1 Kimia pada tahun 1985.[4]

Pada tahun 1987 Akhmaloka melanjutkan studinya ke International Institute of Biotechnology, Inggris, dan mendapatkan gelar Diploma in Biotechnology (Dipl.Biotech.) pada tahun 1988.[4]

Selanjutnya pada tahun 1989 Akhmaloka melanjutkan studinya ke University of Kent di Canterbury, Inggris, dan mendapatkan gelar Ph.D. pada tahun 1991.[4]

Dalam bidang penelitian, Akhmaloka memfokuskan diri pada Molecular Biology of Thermophilic Bacteria. Selain itu, dia juga mengambil bidang penelitian Molecular Genetics Analysis of A Novel Yeast Translational Factor.[5]

Pengalaman kerja di lingkungan ITB dimulai sebagai Pembimbing Kemahasiswaan, Jurusan Kimia, ITB (1993-1995); Ketua Tim Pembelian ITB (1994-1995); Staf Ahli Pembantu Rektor Bidang Perencanaan (1995-1998); Bendaharawan Proyek ITB (1996-1998); Pimpinan Proyek ITB (1998-2000); Sekretaris Akademik Proyek QUE, Departemen Kimia ITB (1999-2000); Project Officer JBIC IP – 434 ITB (2001-2002); Ketua Departemen Kimia, ITB (2001-2005); Anggota Senat Akademik (2003-2005); Pjs Dekan FMIPA, ITB (2005-2005); Dekan FMIPA, ITB (2006–2010); dan Rektor ITB (2010-2014).[4]

Selama menjadi dekan, dia sudah berhasil “menggolkan” 10 profesor baru dari FMIPA ITB. Mimpinya adalah mewujudkan 200 orang profesor di ITB.[6]

Pada tanggal 23 November 2009 Jam 19.00-21.00 Majelis Wali Amanat (MWA) ITB melalui sidang pleno telah memilih Prof. Dr. Akhmaloka sebagai Rektor ITB 2010-2014 dari Tiga Calon Rektor yang di ajukan oleh Senat Akademik ITB. Ketiga Calon Rektor tersebut adalah Adang Surahman (5 suara), Akhmaloka (19 suara), dan Indra Djati Sidi (3 suara).[7]
