Greer lahir Judith Therese Evans pada 20 Juli 1975,[4][5] di dalam Detroit, Michigan. Ibunya, Mollie Ann (née Greer), adalah administrator rumah sakit, dan ayahnya, Rich Evans, adalah seorang insinyur mesin.[6][7] Ibunya pernah menjadi seorang biarawati, yang telah meninggalkan biara setelah delapan tahun "dikeluarkan" untuk perilaku liar, termasuk memiliki baju renang merah.[8]
