Giovanni Boccaccio (1313 – 21 Desember 1375)[1] (pengucapan bahasa Italia: [bokˈkattʃo]) adalah penulis dan penyair Italia. Dia adalah sahabat, murid, sekaligus koresponden Petrarca, seorang humanis Renaisans. Dia menulis sejumlah karya penting, termasuk Decameron, Tentang Wanita Terkenal, dan sajaknya dalam vernacular italia. Boccaccio khususnya terkenal karena dialognya, yang dikatakan telah melampaui orang-orang sezamannya.
