Kucing Schrödinger adalah suatu eksperimen pikiran, terkadang digambarkan juga sebagai paradoks, yang dirancang oleh fisikawan Austria Erwin Schrödinger pada tahun 1935.[1] Eksperimen ini menggambarkan apa yang dilihatnya sebagai masalah interpretasi Kopenhagen mekanika kuantum yang diterapkan pada objek sehari-hari. Skenario ini menyajikan kucing yang mungkin secara simultan berada baik dalam keadaan hidup maupun mati,[2][3][4][5][6][7][8] sebuah kondisi yang dikenal sebagai superposisi kuantum, sebagai akibat dari hubungan dengan peristiwa subatomik acak yang mungkin terjadi atau mungkin tidak terjadi. Eksperimen pemikiran ini juga sering ditampilkan dalam diskusi teoretis tentang interpretasi mekanika kuantum. Schrödinger menciptakan istilah Verschränkung ( keterikatan) untuk mengembangkan eksperimen pikiran.
