Teori konspirasi chemtrail mengusulkan bahwa jejak kondensasi merupakan bahan kimia atau biologis yang sengaja disebar pada ketinggian tertentu oleh pemerintah dengan tujuan yang masih misterius. Teori konspirasi chemtrail menyebar di internet, menyatakan bahwa aktivitas ini disengaja oleh pemerintah. Akibatnya, aparatur pemerintah menerima ribuan protes dari penduduk yang meminta penjelasan.[1] Keberadaan chemtrail dibantah oleh pemerintah dan ilmuwan di seluruh dunia.[2] Bahkan Angkatan Udara Amerika Serikat menyatakan bahwa teori ini adalah hoax.
