Friedrich Bessel (lahir 22 Juli 1784 – meninggal 17 Maret 1846 pada umur 61 tahun) adalah seorang ahli matematika, astronomi dan perumus Fungsi Bessel yang sebelumnya dicetuskan oleh Daniel Bernoulli. Di bidang astronomi, Bessel merupakan orang pertama yang menggunakan parallax dalam mengkalkulasi jarak terhadap bintang.
