- 8 Maret – Serial fiksi ilmiah komika Douglas Adams The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy yang bermula dari komedi radio disiarkan di BBC Radio 4 di Britania Raya.
- Maret – Philip Larkin mengakhiri hubungannya dengan Maeve Brennan dan Betty Mackereth.[1]
- April – Cerita terbitan pertama James Blaylock, "The Ape-Box Affair" dalam majalah Unearth, mempelopori fiksi steampunk.[2]
