Negara kota Singapura memiliki lebih dari 4.300 bangunan tinggi yang selesai dibangun. Kebanyakan di antaranya terletak di Downtown Core.[1] Di kotanya, terdapat 59 pencakar langit setinggi lebih dari 140 meter (459 ft). Ada tiga gedung yang merupakan bangunan tertinggi di Singapura: United Overseas Bank Plaza One, Republic Plaza, dan Overseas Union Bank Centre.[2] Ketiga menara yang bergelar bangunan tertinggi ke-106 di dunia ini masing-masing setinggi 280 m (919 ft).[3][4][5] Ada batasan tinggi 280 meter (919 ft) untuk semua struktur di distrik bisnis pusat Singapura (Raffles Place, Marina Bay Sands, Kallang River, Kallang, dan Mountbatten) dikarenakan letaknya yang dekat dengan Pangkalan Udara Paya Lebar.[3][6]

Sejarah pencakar langit Singapura dimulai dengan rampungnya Cathay Building berlantai 17 pada tahun 1939.[7] Setelah selesai dibangun, struktur setinggi 70-meter (230 ft) ini langsung menjadi bangunan tertinggi di Asia Tenggara. Gelarnya direbut oleh Asia Insurance Building (87-meter (285 ft)) pada tahun 1954, lalu berpindah ke Shaw Centre (100 m (328 ft)) pada tahun 1958.[8][9] Singapura mengalami pertumbuhan gedung besar-besaran pada 1970-an dan 1980-an yang menyebabkan percepatan industrialisasi di kota ini. Pada saat yang sama, Overseas Union Bank Centre menjadi bangunan tertinggi di negara kota ini. Struktur setinggi 280 m (919 ft) tersebut juga merupakan bangunan tertinggi di dunia di luar Amerika Utara sejak rampung tahun 1986 sampai 1989, ketika Bank of China Tower di Hong Kong selesai dibangun.[3][10] Musim pembangunan pencakar langit berlanjut sepanjang 1990-an dan 2000-an, menghasilkan 30 pencakar langit kurang lebih setinggi 140 m (459 ft) yang didominasi menara hunian. Menara-menara tersebut dibangun pada tahun 1990 sampai 2008.

Sejak 2000, terjadi peningkatan pesat jumlah pencakar langit yang sedang dibangun di wilayah kota, terutama di distrik Marina Bay. Satu proyek yang sedang dibangun di Marina Centre adalah Marina Bay Financial Centre yang terdiri dari 3 menara perkantoran dengan ruang perkantoran Grade A seluas 3 juta kaki persegi, 2 menara hunian yang berisi 649 apartemen mewah, dan Marina Bay Link Mall seluas 176.000 kaki persegi.[11] Tahap pertama MBFC selesai tahun 2010. Tahap keduanya yang meliputi MBFC Tower 3 selesai pada kuartal pertama 2012. Marina Bay Suites yang merupakan bagian dari Tahap 2 akan selesai pada 2013. Ada juga beberapa pembangunan baru di zona penghubung perbelanjaan kota, Orchard Road. The Orchard Residences adalah menara berlantai 43 setinggi 245 m (804 ft) yang sedang dibangun bersama pusat perbelanjaan ION Orchard.[12] Selain itu, Ocean Financial Centre berlantai 13 setinggi 218 m (715 ft) mulai dibangun di Raffles Place.[13]

Bangunan tertinggi[sunting | sunting sumber]

Daftar ini memeringkatkan pencakar langit di Singapura dengan tinggi sedikitnya 140 m (459 ft) berdasarkan pengukuran tinggi standar. Pengukuran ini mencakup pucuk dan fitur arsitektur, namun tidak mencakup menara antena. Tanda sama dengan (=) setelah peringkat menandakan tinggi antara dua atau beberapa bangunan sama. Kolom "Tahun" menandakan tahun selesainya bangunan tersebut.
