Perubahan iklim adalah perubahan jangka panjang dalam distribusi pola cuaca secara statistik sepanjang periode waktu mulai dasawarsa hingga jutaan tahun. Istilah ini bisa juga berarti perubahan keadaan cuaca rata-rata atau perubahan distribusi peristiwa cuaca rata-rata, contohnya, jumlah peristiwa cuaca ekstrem yang semakin banyak atau sedikit. Perubahan iklim terbatas hingga regional tertentu atau dapat terjadi di seluruh wilayah Bumi.
Dalam penggunaannya saat ini, khususnya pada kebijakan lingkungan, perubahan iklim merujuk pada perubahan iklim modern. Perubahan ini dapat dikelompokkan sebagai perubahan iklim antropogenik atau lebih umumnya dikenal sebagai pemanasan global atau pemanasan global antropogenik.
