Pleistosen Akhir

Pleistosen Akhir, yang juga dikenal sebagai Pleistosen Atas, atau Tarantium merupakan sub-kala terakhir atau teratas dari kala Pleistosen, yang dimulai dari 129.000 tahun lalu, hingga 11.700 tahun lalu. Sub-kala ini ditentukan dengan kronostratigrafi, tetapi belum memiliki GSSP (Global Boundary Stratotype Sections and Points).

Peristiwa

Pada saat ini, banyak hewan-hewan besar yang mengalami kepunahan. Demikianlah tahap akhir dari periode Kwarter. Selanjutnya, tahap ini diikuti oleh Tahap Holosen atau Zaman Alluvium. Pada zaman ini Homo sapiens, seperti: Homo soloensis dan Homo wajakensis hidup, tumbuh dan berkembang.
