Ada sebuah sungai dengan lebar kira-kira hampir 80 meter dengan nama "Aek Godang", sehingga bagi mereka yang menempuh perjalanan dari Sibolga menuju Barus, akan mengatakan bahwa daerah Kolang ada setelah melewati jembatan terpanjang di daerah itu.
