Out of the Past (di Britania Raya diberi judul Build My Gallows High) adalah sebuah film noir 1947 garapan Jacques Tourneur dan dibintangi oleh Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer, dan Kirk Douglas. Film tersebut diadaptasi oleh Daniel Mainwaring (memakai pseudonim Geoffrey Homes), dengan revisi-revisi yang tak disebutkan oleh Frank Fenton dan James M. Cain, dari novelnya Build My Gallows High (juga ditulis sebagai Homes).
