Melissa de la Cruz (lahir 7 September 1971) adalah seorang penulis dari Amerika Serikat yang diganjar penghargaan best selling oleh New York Times dan USA Today, atas karya-karya novelnya, kebanyakan untuk pemuda-dewasa. Karyanya yang cukup dikenal adalah seri novel Au Pair dan seri Blue Bloods.

Masa kecil

Melissa de la Cruz menghabiskan masa mudanya di Manila, lalu bermigrasi ke Amerika Serikat bersama keluarganya saat masih berumur 12 tahun. Ayahnya adalah seorang bankir investasi. Keluarganya tinggal di San Fransisco, hingga akhirnya ia lulus dari Convent of the Sacred Heart High School. Ia melanjutkan pendidikan di bidang sejarah seni dan Bahasa Inggris di Columbia University. Pengalamannya bekerja sambilan sebagai pengasuh dan kunjungannya ke The Hamptons mendasari latar belakang seri bukunya, The Au Pairs. Pekerjaannya sebagai penulis fashion menginspirasinya menulis How to Become Famous in Two Weeks or Less, bersama Karen Robinovitz.
