Bau adalah zat kimia yang tercampur di udara, umumnya dengan konsentrasi yang sangat rendah, yang manusia terima dengan indera penciuman. Bau dapat berupa bau enak maupun tak enak. Istilah wewangian atau aroma digunakan terutama pada industri makanan dan kosmetik untuk menggambarkan bau enak, dan kadang digunakan untuk merujuk pada parfum.
