Codex Freerianus, diberi kode I atau 016 (dalam penomoran Gregory-Aland), α 1041 (von Soden), juga disebut Washington Manuscript of the Pauline Epistles ("Naskah Surat-surat Paulus di Washington), adalah sebuah naskah kuno berbentuk codex yang memuat sebagian Perjanjian Baru di Alkitab Kristen, yang diperkirakan dibuat pada abad ke-5. Ditulis dalam gaya tulisan uncial pada lembaran vellum dalam bahasa Yunani.

Dinamakan menurut Charles Lang Freer, yang membelinya di Mesir. Codex ini sekarang disimpan di Freer Gallery of Art pada Smithsonian Institution di Washington, D.C., dengan nomor rak 06.275.[1][2]

Menurut Guglielmo Cavallo, naskah "016" ini berasal dari "Wadi El Natrun" atau Nitrian Desert di Mesir.[3]

Pemerian

Kodeks ini memuat bagian-bagian Surat-surat Paulus kecuali Surat Roma. Juga memuat Surat Ibrani, yang ditempatkan setelah surat 2 Tesalonika. Naskah ini umumnya diperkirakan dari abad ke-5, meskipun beberapa berpendapat asalnya dari abad ke-6. Terdiri dari sekitar 210 lembaran perkamen (25 cm kali 20 cm), di antaranya hanya 84 lembar yang terlestarikan dalam kondisi terfragmentasi. Teks kodeks ini mengandung banyak kehilangan (lacunae). Ditulis dalam satu kolom per halaman, 30 baris per kolom.[5] Huruf-huruf dan kata-kata tidak dipisahkan satu sama lain (tanpa spasi), sebagaimana pada gaya tulis scriptio-continua (tulisan bersambung).

Teks bahasa Yunani kodeks ini, yang disalin dan disunting oleh H. A. Sanders pada tahun 1921, merupakan contoh yang bagus dari jenis teks Alexandria, lebih bersesuaian dengan א, A, C, dan Minuscule 33, daripada naskah P46, B atau Minuscule 1739.[6] Aland menempatkannya dalam Kategori II, menggolongkannya ke dalam teks Mesir (Egyptian text.[7] Kondisinya yang terfragmentasi membatasi kegunaannya.

Pada 2 Timotius 1:11 memuat καὶ διδάσκαλος (dan guru) sebagaimana א*, A, 1175, syrpal; mayoritas naskah memuat καὶ διδάσκαλος ἐθνῶν (dan guru bangsa-bangsa ).[8]
