Laman incipit yang dihias untuk Injil Matius, 1120–1140

Incipit (/ˈɪnsɪpɪt/)[1] dari sebuah teks adalah beberapa kata pertama dari teks tersebut, yang dijadikan sebagai label identifikasi. Dalam komposisi musik, sebuah incipit adalah bagian awal dari not, dengan tujuan yang sama. Kata incipit berasal dari Latin dan memiliki arti "permulaan".

Catatan kaki[sunting | sunting sumber]

  1. ^ "incipit". Oxford English Dictionary. Oxford University Press. 2nd ed. 1989. The OED-recommended pronunciation competes in everyday usage with several others: [ɪnˈsɪpɪt], [ˈɪnkɪpɪt], [ɪnˈkɪpɪt], [ˈɪntʃɪpit], and [ɪnˈtʃɪpɪt]. Of these, the use of second-syllable stress and of [k] for letter c is endorsed by Merriam-Webster on its dictionary web site ([1]). Pronunciations with [tʃ] are based on the Italian rendition of letter c before i. For discussion of the variants, see ChoralNet.
