Dawn of the Dead [b] adalah film horor zombie tahun 1978 yang ditulis, disutradarai, dan disunting oleh George A. Romero, dan diproduseri oleh Richard P. Rubinstein. Film ini merupakan produksi internasional bersama antara Italia dan Amerika Serikat,[10] film ini merupakan seri kedua dari seri film zombie Romero, dan meskipun tidak mengandung karakter atau pengaturan dari film sebelumnya Night of the Living Dead (1968),film ini menunjukkan dampak kiamat zombi dalam skala yang lebih besar pada masyarakat. Dalam film tersebut, sebuah fenomena yang tidak diketahui asalnya telah menyebabkan kebangkitan orang mati, yang memangsa daging manusia. David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott Reiniger, dan Gaylen Ross berperan sebagai para penyintas wabah yang membarikade diri di dalam pusat perbelanjaan pinggiran kota di tengah histeria massa.

  1. ↑ Although the film's budget has been reported by sources such as the American Film Institute and The Numbers as $1.5 million,[2][6] Rubenstein revealed that this figure was an inflation used to maximize profits from selling the film to international distributors. Approximately $500,000 was used in the film's production. The $640,000 figure includes Romero and Rubenstein's salaries (worth approximately $50,000 altogether) and the costs of processing the film at Technicolor's facilities in New York City, which were deferred.[7]
