Brachystelechidae adalah famili mikrosaurus dari periode permian Awal yang sudah punah. Famili ini pertama kali dinamai oleh Robert L. Carroll dan Pamela Gaskill pada tahun 1978, dengan satu-satunya anggota adalah Brachystelechus fritschi.[1] Brachystelechus fritschi sejak itu dipindahkan ke genus Batropetes.[2] Tiga genera saat ini ditetapkan ke dalam famili ini: Batropetes, dari Jerman;[1] Carrolla, dari Texas;[3] dan Quasicaecilia, juga dari Texas.[4]
