Benedict John Greenwood (lahir 31 Juli 1969), lebih dikenal sebagai Ben Chaplin, adalah seorang aktor asal Inggris. Kehidupan awal

Chaplin lahir pada tanggal 31 Juli 1969 di Windsor, di daerah Berkshire, Inggris, putra dari Cynthia (née Chaplin), seorang guru, dan Peter Greenwood CBE, seorang insinyur sipil. Ia memiliki seorang saudara perempuan, Rachel, dan seorang saudara laki-laki, Justin.

Chaplin mulai tertarik pada dunia akting sejak remaja, setelah berakting dalam sebuah produksi teater saat bersekolah di Princess Margaret Royal Free School. Pada usia tujuh belas tahun, ia mendaftar di Guildhall School of Music and Drama di London. Ia meniti karier akting awalnya di sela-sela pekerjaan sambilan sebagai pekerja kantoran, dan sempat bekerja sebagai ahli statistik di London Transport Authority.
