The Lady adalah film produksi kerjasama Inggris-Perancis yang disutradarai oleh Luc Besson, dibintangi Michelle Yeoh[7] sebagai Aung San Suu Kyi dan David Thewlis[8] sebagai suaminya.[9] [10] Yeoh menggambarkan film sebagai "sebuah kisah luar biasa cinta" dengan latar belakang "kekacauan politik".[11] Paris Match berbagi pendapatnya, penamaan film cerita luar biasa dari cinta antara almarhum suaminya Michael Aris dan seorang wanita yang mengorbankan kebahagiaan pribadinya bagi bangsanya.[12] [13] Michelle Yeoh menyebut film "tenaga kerja cinta" tetapi juga mengaku telah merasa mengintimidasi baginya untuk memainkan pemenang Nobel.
