Proposal for GoogleTrans Gadget

Hi there,

Sorry about the English.

I have had a GoogleTrans gadget on the enwiki for almost a year now. If you position the cursor over a word and hit the SHIFT key it will popup the google translation of that word. It is like the google toolbar translation feature except that it will also handle selected text (< 500 characters). The gadget is currently running on 8 wikis.

The help page for the gadget is at:

There are instructions on how to port the gadget onto other wikis on the help page.

Good luck with your wiki. Anybody who is learning Indonesian by reading idwiki articles could benefit from this gadget.

 Selesai. Saya sudah beberapa waktu memakainya di en.wiki dan memang saya melihat ada banyak kegunaannya, terutama yang mungkin mencari konten orisinal dari id.wp namun tidak begitu menguasai bahasa Indonesia.

Update (for IE9) needed for GoogleTrans gadget

Hi there,

Apparently, you are the installer of the GoogleTrans gadget on idwiki. Thanks for that.

The gadget needs to be updated to support IE9, which is being used now.

I've put the updated code at:

User:Endo999/GoogleTrans.js

which you can use to update your gadget file. You can copy the contents into your gadget file or you can replace your gadget file with the following line:

importScript("User:Endo999/GoogleTrans.js");

It's up to you how you wish to do this. If you use the importscript method then I will be able to update the gadget in future.
