Wah, baru ngeh ini nama lain dari kulit atom :p Gombang (bicara) 17:35, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Sebenarnya ini karena kata "kulit atom" menyiratkan adanya lapisan-lapisan elektron. Dahulu memang dikira elektron mengelilingi inti seperti itu, namun pada akhirnya diketahui bahwa elektron berada di sekitar inti atom dalam bentuk orbital-orbital. Mungkin karena tampak seperti kelopak bunga, makanya dalam glosarium pusat bahasa electron shell diterjemahkan menjadi kelopak elektron. Hand15 (bicara) 04:37, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

 Setuju dikembalikan ke kulit elektron. Agak asing bagi saya electron shell diterjemahkan jadi kelopak elektron Agung Karjono (bicara) 17 Desember 2015 09.42 (UTC)

Saya tarik persetujuan saya, sudah terlalu banyak artikel yang saya buat menggunakan istilah kelopak elektron.--Agung Karjono (bicara) 14 September 2017 07.38 (UTC)

Kalau dilihat di buku-buku teks baik SMA maupun kuliah, sepertinya "kulit elektron" yang digunakan. Usulku dikembalikan jadi kulit atom saja sebelum semakin meluas penggunaannya. HaEr48 (bicara) 24 Desember 2018 07.21 (UTC)
