Metakognitif adalah kemampuan untuk mengontrol ranah atau aspek kognitif. Meta kognitif mengendalikan enam tingkatan aspek kognitif yang didefinisikan oleh Benjamin Bloom dalam taksonomi Bloom yang terdiri dari tahap ingatan, pemahaman, terapan, analisis dan sintetis.
